Bhubaneswar,Odisha:A young man died after allegedly being attacked with an iron rod following a minor altercation in Patana village under Balianta police station limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The incident reportedly took place on October 20, and police have arrested one accused in connection with the case.

The deceased has been identified as Rinku Martha, a resident of Patana village.

Two Brothers Allegedly Attacked the Youth

According to reports, the incident occurred on the afternoon of October 20, when Rinku was allegedly attacked with an iron rod by two brothers following a verbal altercation. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.

However, despite medical intervention, Rinku succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

CCTV Footage Under Police Investigation

The alleged assault was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. Police are examining the footage as part of their investigation to establish the sequence of events and determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Following the incident, Balianta police arrested one of the accused, identified as Mahesh Kumar Ray Bahadur. Investigators are also examining the alleged involvement of the second person.

Police Probe Continues

The exact motive behind the alleged assault and the circumstances that led to the fatal altercation are yet to be fully established. Police are continuing their investigation, analysing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to determine the sequence of events.

The case has once again drawn attention to concerns over violent confrontations arising from minor disputes.
