New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has reportedly reprimanded Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurabh Das over their approach to legal proceedings, emphasising the importance of following the prescribed judicial process.
The two leaders had approached the High Court seeking relief. However, during the hearing, the court questioned their decision to approach the higher court without first allowing the proceedings before the Special Executive Magistrate to take their course.
‘You Are Not Gen Z’: Court Emphasises Legal Procedure
During the hearing, the judge reportedly remarked that the leaders were not members of Gen Z who could act as they pleased and directly approach a higher court.
The court stressed that the established legal procedure should be respected and that the leaders should have waited for the proceedings before the Special Executive Magistrate before approaching the High Court.
Court Raises Concerns Over Peace Bond Compliance
The hearing also reportedly addressed concerns regarding compliance with peace bond requirements. Referring to unrest in foreign countries, including France, the court is said to have warned against conduct that could undermine public peace.
The observations highlighted the importance of respecting legal obligations and maintaining peace amid tensions surrounding protests and public demonstrations.
Legal Process in Focus
The case brings attention to the procedures that individuals must follow when seeking judicial relief. The court's reported remarks underline the importance of adhering to the prescribed legal process rather than bypassing the relevant lower-level proceedings.
Further details regarding the court's final order and the status of the leaders' plea should be confirmed from the official court record before publication.
