New Delhi: IndiGo has extended the cancellation of its flights to and from four major Saudi Arabian cities—Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah—until October 31, 2026, citing the evolving security situation in the region.

In its latest travel advisory, the airline said that services to and from Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah would remain cancelled through October 31, extending the earlier deadline of October 27. Flights connecting Riyadh had already been suspended until October 31.

The airline said passenger and crew safety remained its highest priority and that it was coordinating with the relevant authorities to assess developments and ensure safe operations.

Indian Embassy Confirms Flight Suspension

The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia also shared an advisory confirming that IndiGo flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah would remain cancelled until October 31.

The extension comes amid heightened security concerns in Saudi Arabia and the wider region, following reported attacks targeting critical infrastructure, including King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

The developments have prompted airlines to review their flight schedules and take precautionary measures.

Akasa Air Also Extends Flight Suspensions

IndiGo is not the only Indian airline affected by the situation. Akasa Air has also extended the suspension of its services to and from Jeddah until November 10 and Riyadh until November 30, according to its latest travel update.

The revised schedules could affect passengers travelling for work, family visits, religious pilgrimages and other purposes. Travellers are advised to check directly with their airline before heading to the airport.

What Passengers Should Do

Passengers holding bookings on affected routes should check their flight status through the airline’s official website or customer-support channels. They should also monitor messages and emails from their airline for updates on cancellations, rescheduling and applicable refund options.

With the security situation continuing to evolve, airlines may revise their schedules further depending on official assessments and operational conditions.

Passengers are advised not to assume that a previously confirmed booking will operate as scheduled and should verify the latest information before making travel arrangements.
