New Delhi: Commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased for the third consecutive month across India's four major metropolitan cities, adding to the cost burden on restaurants, hotels and sweet shops ahead of Diwali.

According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) data, commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased by ₹10 to ₹17 across Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. Kolkata has recorded the highest increase this month.

In Delhi, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by ₹10 to ₹2,820. In Kolkata, rates have increased by ₹17, taking the price to ₹2,971.

Mumbai has witnessed a hike of ₹10.50, with the commercial cylinder now costing ₹2,775. In Chennai, prices have risen by ₹11.50 to ₹2,994.50.

The increase marks the third consecutive monthly hike. Since August, commercial LPG prices have risen by ₹82 in Delhi, ₹98.50 in Kolkata, ₹83.50 in Mumbai and ₹88.50 in Chennai.

The latest increase comes just ahead of Diwali, raising concerns that higher cooking fuel costs could affect the prices of sweets and restaurant meals.

However, there is some relief for household consumers. Domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged across all four metropolitan cities.

According to IOCL data, a domestic LPG cylinder costs ₹942 in Delhi, ₹968 in Kolkata, ₹941.50 in Mumbai and ₹957.50 in Chennai.

Domestic LPG prices were last revised in June. For now, household consumers have received no fresh price hike, even as commercial users face another increase.
