Kyiv: At least 13 people have been killed and 10 others seriously injured in a Russian drone attack on a railway station in Ukraine's central city of Dnipro.
The attack reportedly took place on Thursday afternoon when a Russian jet-powered drone struck the railway station. At the time of the strike, a local commuter train and a regular passenger train were stationed on the platform.
The attack triggered panic across the railway station, while emergency and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched relief and rescue operations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy strongly condemned the attack, describing it as horrific and an act of terrorism in a post on X.
Zelenskyy also criticised Western countries over their approach towards Russia. He alleged that Moscow had intensified its war efforts following the easing of certain restrictions on prominent Russian business figures and the energy sector.
The Ukrainian President urged the United States and European nations to take firm and decisive action against Russia's aggressive actions.
He further stressed that sanctions against Moscow should not be relaxed as long as the war against Ukraine continues.
Zelenskyy called on the European Union, the United States and G7 member nations to unite and impose fresh, stricter sanctions against Russia.
The incident comes amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, with attacks continuing to raise concerns over civilian safety and critical infrastructure.
