US President Donald Trump has renewed his public endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging Israeli voters to return him to office and declaring that the two leaders must “finish the job” against Iran.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump reiterated his support for Netanyahu just days before Israel’s October 27 election. The intervention came amid opinion polls suggesting that Netanyahu’s governing coalition could fall short of securing a parliamentary majority.

Trump Highlights Close Ties With Netanyahu

Addressing Israeli voters, Trump recalled his earlier endorsement and praised his relationship with Netanyahu, widely known as “Bibi.”

Trump described Netanyahu as an “outstanding Warrior Prime Minister” and highlighted their cooperation during military operations involving Iran.

He cited Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury, claiming that Iran’s military capabilities and economy had suffered severe damage. These assessments were Trump’s own claims.

Iran Takes Centre Stage in Election Campaign

Trump linked his appeal directly to the confrontation with Iran, arguing that continued cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem was necessary to address security threats.

He also referred to anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans used by Iran’s adversaries, saying such chants should no longer be heard around the world.

Concluding his message, Trump urged Israelis to vote for Netanyahu, writing: “Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister, we have to finish the job that we started!”

Netanyahu Faces a Crucial Electoral Test

The renewed endorsement comes as Netanyahu faces a closely contested election, with pre-election surveys indicating that his coalition may struggle to reach the 61 seats required for a majority in Israel’s 120-member Knesset.

Reports also suggest that Netanyahu had sought further public support from Trump ahead of the vote, although his party’s representatives have disputed claims that he pressed for the latest endorsement.

The election is being closely watched internationally, with relations between Israel and the United States, the confrontation with Iran and regional security among the key issues shaping the campaign.
