Bangladesh: A disturbing case of alleged child sexual abuse has emerged from Tongi in Bangladesh, where police arrested Musleuddin, the vice-principal of Qariul Quran International Madrasa in the Madhya Auchpara area of Gazipur.

According to *The Daily Star*, Tongi West Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arif Hossain said police rescued the accused from an agitated crowd and took him into custody. Preliminary findings of the investigation reportedly supported the allegations.

Family Alleges Abuse Inside Madrasa

According to the victim's family, the alleged incident took place on October 20, when the accused reportedly sexually harassed the seven-year-old girl, a Class One student at the madrasa.

The family further alleged that the accused threatened to beat the child if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Following the alleged incident, the girl became frightened and did not attend the madrasa for three days. When her family members questioned her about her absence, she reportedly told them about the alleged abuse.

Angry Locals Surround Accused

After learning about the allegations, the girl's father visited the madrasa on October 21 and demanded an explanation from the vice-principal.

As news of the incident spread, local residents gathered at the institution and surrounded the accused. According to reports, some members of the crowd assaulted him.

Police subsequently arrived at the scene, rescued the accused from the crowd and took him into custody.

Court Sends Accused to Jail

The victim's father later filed a case against the accused. Police formally arrested Musleuddin and produced him before a court on Thursday, which ordered that he be sent to jail.

Officer-in-Charge Arif Hossain said the investigation was underway. The allegations are subject to the legal process, and the accused's guilt will be determined by the court.

The case has raised serious concerns about child safety and the need for effective safeguards to protect children in educational and religious institutions.
